Organic Shea Butter
Premium quality, A-grade, organic, pure unrefined Shea butter, originating from Ghana, West Africa. Organic shea butter melts at body temperature and has an ivory, off-white colour that varies slightly depending on the season and has the characteristic nutty aroma of unrefined Shea butter.
Used in many skincare products for it’s nourishing properties, such as creams, body butter & lip balms. Rich in vitamins A, E and F, including stearic and oleic acids, organic shea butter has anti-inflammatory properties, suitable for all skin types and is traditionally used to treat scars, eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and wrinkles.
Once refined shea butter has lost it’s beneficial properties and may contain traces of hexane, a toxic chemical used during processing. Unrefined shea butter is toxin free and retains the nourishing properties.
Sourced from an Australian Owned, Family operated company promoting West African fair trade and sustainability practices and environmental conservation.
USES: Super Simple Toxin Free Deodorant Paste, Hand creams, body butters, hair treatments, Moisturisers, lip balm.
TIP: If the aroma of unrefined shea butter is not to your taste or interferes with your recipe you can try leaving the shea butter container open and the characteristic aroma will be reduced.
Although appropriate care is taken during the packaging of ingredients we cannot guarantee them to be free from cross contamination. As such although some ingredients are quoted as being food grade, our ingredients are sold for use in DIY recipes only and not for human consumption.
Where an ingredient is labelled “Organic” it was organically certified, at the time of purchase. However, as Blooming Mandala does not have organic accreditations, it cannot be sold as certified organic.
Store ingredients in a clean dry place away from direct sunlight. If supplied in compostable packaging and the ingredient will be stored for some time we recommended it is transferred to an airtight container for storage to protect product quality and ensure a longer shelf life.
Please keep in mind that while the ingredients used in DIY recipes may be natural they can still cause irritation, be caustic or even toxic if swallowed. Please wear suitable PPE (gloves, mask and eye protection) whilst handling raw ingredients, to avoid direct skin and eye contact and inhalation of dust. This is especially important when handling powders such as borax, washing soda and sodium percarbonate. As with any product, if irritation occurs, discontinue use. STORE OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
